New Wing, St. Francis of Paola Shrine

The shrine stands on a large square in which the facade of the temple stands out on the left while, on the right is the large modern basilica inaugurated on the occasion of the Jubilee of 2000.

The exterior cladding consists of shaped ashlars with a “coarse spiked” finish, interspersed with bush-hammered bands.

The secondary entrances are made of polished blocks; the stairways have bush-hammered finish.

The centerpiece is undoubtedly the magnificent entrance portal formed by a series of pointed arches with a Carrara marble statue of the saint by sculptor Borghi in the center.

With the exception of the latter, all of the above works and all remaining finishes are made of white stone from Minervino Murge.
